Becoming a Kidney Kid
Becoming a Kidney Kid
The support provided by Kidney Kids is available to children and young people aged 0-19 years old who experience kidney disease, kidney related conditions and urinary related issues.
We are dedicated to building a strong Kidney Kids community with information, personable support and events that bring people together. We are committed to not only supporting Kidney Kids but also their families, understanding that a diagnosis impacts everyone involved.
What do we provide?
Kidney Kids strives to provide a supportive community where children, young people and their families can thrive with the support of the team and one another. Regional events such as the annual Christmas party, annual camps and regular regional catch-ups provide a space where kids and young people can meet others with similar conditions fostering meaningful and unique bonds. These gatherings also allow the families of those affected by kidney related diseases to meet and support one another making the journey feel less isolating.
The Kidney Kids team not only provides support on a community scale but also offers one-on-one support. This includes joining our kids and their families on hospital and renal clinic visits, support with education and regular check-ins. Living with kidney related conditions is not only physically tough but also mentally challenging. Kidney Kids is here to help you when and wherever you need it.
Why should you join?
Unlike other Kidney charities, Kidney Kids offers support nationwide specifically to children and young people, meaning our services are tailored to a younger community. Empowering our community is something we strive for, ensuring we can assist our Kidney Kids and their families as they navigate through the challenges that lie ahead. And when our Kidney Kids become kidney adults, we are here to help with the transition.
The support Kidney Kids provides is a community effort. Every single child, teenager, parent, guardian and sibling helps our community grow, allowing us to provide more support to more families nationwide. As our charity expands, our influence on kidney related matters grows, enabling us to enhance the lives of kids, young people and families affected by kidney related conditions.
