Making Kidney Kids Famous!

Making Kidney Kids Famous!

Recently, Kidney Kids hosted a photoshoot to launch our new look where seven Kidney Kids from around Auckland showcased their superstar qualities in front of the camera.

Selena, Liam, Lily-Mae, Waylon, Ari, Imeleina, Zack and Georgie posed together using an array of props and their own favourite toys. We captured their personalities and special talents in a fun afternoon photo call. With the help of our ambassador, Walter Neilands, our brave young models were able to display their infectious smiles and big personalities, creating a gallery of inspiring new photos for Kidney Kids.

It was great to have kids and teenagers from the community to reflect the different life stages of those with kidney related conditions. The kids did a fantastic job at demonstrating their playfulness despite their conditions, while the teenagers displayed their empathetic nature to those younger, reflecting the caring personalities our community is made of.

The Kidney Kids admin team was also able to strut-their-stuff in front of the camera with a team shot and personal headshots.

Hosted in a venue on Auckland’s famous Karangahape Road, the venue was large enough to house not only the Kidney Kids but also their families. This allowed for a vibrant atmosphere and for many, a long overdue reunion. Our families were able to join in the shoot and the fun.

In a week of heavy fog and rain, Auckland’s weather cleared up for one day only – just in time for photoshoot day. This allowed us to venture beyond the studio to the local Myers Park, where the children were able to let off steam, enjoy the excitement of the swings and slides and well, just be kids!

Keep an eye out on our socials and website for the pictures!

A big thank you to our Kidney Kids, their families, Goode PR, our photographers Nykie & Helen from SheShoots and The EverRoom for helping us capture our Kidney Kids.
