26 Sep Dancing Her Way To The Top
Twelve-year-old Louisa Thomsen from Christchurch is a true example of resilience and passion. Living with chronic renal pain, many kidney infections, and a concussion in 2024, Louisa faces more health challenges than most her age. She continues to shine brightly and refuses to let her condition dim her enthusiasm and love for the performing arts.
In January this year, Louisa travelled to the Gold Coast and won two national dance titles. Since then, she has embraced incredible opportunities performing in The Sponge Bob Musical with The Court Theatre and now preparing for a role in The Sound of Music later this year.
Louisa has also been cast as Alex in her school production of Madagascar where she’s also taken on the roles of student director and choreographer. Her exceptional talent and dedication have earned her a Performing Arts Scholarship at St Margaret’s College. She’s a rising star and a true Kidney Kids warrior!
Louisa’s story is one of strength, joy, and determination in the face of adversity. Her spirit is a powerful reminder that Kidney Kids are defined not by their health challenges, but by the incredible things they accomplish.
