What?

Four guys are going to play speed golf on all Taranaki golf courses over two and a half days. That is 324 holes of golf played, approx. 1200 hits per person and approx. a marathon a day.

Who?

Reeve’s sister Adelle was diagnosed with a kidney disease at 12 years old, was on dialysis at home within 18 months and had a kidney transplant at 15 years old. Unfortunately, the disease that caused her kidneys to fail reoccurred in her transplanted kidney which eventually meant back on dialysis and she received a kidney transplant from Reeve four years ago almost to the day of the Taranaki challenge. Reeve is joined by Adelle’s husband Mick, colleague and friend Bernie and World Speed Golf Champion Jamie Reid.

Why?

Through Adelle and her experience with kidney illness as a kid and teenager Kidney Kids NZ is a Charity, they have stayed close to over the years. Like many Charities Covid -19 really impacted Kidney Kids usual income from both grants and donations making it difficult to them to provide support to their kidney kids and their families throughout New Zealand. ‘The boys’, not ones to turn away from a challenge and proud Taranaki boys wanting to showcase Taranaki golf courses at the same time they decided to play speed golf on all 18 golf courses in Taranaki over long weekend to raise much needed funds for Kidney Kids NZ.

Adelle McBeth’s involvement (page creator)

“As a ‘kidney kid’ when I was younger Kidney Kids NZ is a charity that has remained close to ours heart. When ‘the boys’ wanted to take on a challenge naturally Kidney Kids was to be the beneficiary of much needed fundraising” Adelle
